Last November, Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer became the sixth pitcher in major league history to win the Cy Young Award in both the American League and National League. This November, Scherzer will join a less exclusive, but more important, club when he becomes a dad.

“Happy Father’s Day to the best dad-to-be we could ask for!” Scherzer’s wife, Erica, announced on Twitter before the Nationals’ 5-1 loss to the Mets on Sunday.

Happy Father's Day to the best dad-to-be we could ask for! Baby girl Scherzer debuts this November!!

Max, who improved to 8-4 with his fifth consecutive double-digit strikeout effort Friday against the Mets, tweeted the same photo of the happy couple holding up a toddler-sized No. 31 Scherzer jersey for their future baby girl.

Happy Father's Day! 1st child is a baby girl and can't wait to join the club this November!

Washington’s ace joked that his daughter won’t have to worry about her jersey ending up in the trash, unlike the jersey from Scherzer’s second no-hitter that Erica almost tossed after mistaking it for any old piece of game-used apparel.

At least we know my wife won't throw away that jersey

Wife was cleaning up the house and threw away a "dirty" Jersey… It was the 2nd No Hitter Jersey! #ShesSleepingOnTheCouch
